I was you, times three.
Three years ago, I watched my oldest board a plane to go to Europe for his first semester of college. I was nervous, scared, worried AND hated the loss of control I was feeling. I had some peace too.
This semester wasn’t a walk in the park for either of us, but knowing how to handle my worries and anxieties meant I could be a calm support.
I knew how to send him the confidence he needed to thrive and come home having grown more than I could have hoped.
This experience helped me the next year as I took my second son to his freshman college dorm 2,000 miles from home. I used the tools (I now teach clients) to stay calm and regulated when he wasn’t calm. I knew how to handle the disappointments, scary moments and growing pains with hope and confidence.
You don’t need to be drowning in worry and anxiety. Let me know you. (Which helps them, I promise!)
